Each of you plays a rival city planner trying to build the most prestigious city and gain influence on the council. Every turn starts with a draft of Character cards: you keep some, pass some and discard some, then use your character's powers to earn gold, build districts and take control of buildings. The King's Guard protects certain districts, and you can also steal resources or disrupt your opponent's plans. The game ends when all 16 city spaces are filled: you then count the total cost of your districts, the gold on them and the council seats you hold.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBetween \u003cstrong\u003ebluffing\u003c\/strong\u003e, anticipation and tactical timing, each duel plays in about 30 minutes.
